Despite the whole noble mercenary vibe she gives off, Ayaka isn't one for conflict. While she'd prefer to settle disputes over a nice cup of tea, she's equally competent at doing so at the tip of her blade instead. She's polite and ladylike, but by no means a coward; she'll stand her ground when the need arises, and won't back down easily.
